To your knowledge, does a european database equivalent to the EIO-LCA webiste exist ?

I'd be quite interested in comparing the environmental performance of european and american economic sectors...

Indeed there are several models available for Europe. All of hte EU-15 (and possibly now 25) are required by eurostat to create input-output tables and many also create environmental data in the same format. There is currently a large-scale research project at several European institutions to create a large database of european and other EIO-LCA models called the EXIOPOL project. (see http://www.feem-project.net/exiopol/ ) Contacting someone on that project would probably be your best bet for obtaining data.
